A lifestyle garden – Anne and Michael

A garden/lifestyle restoration journey

Anne and Michael’s garden did not enhance their lifestyle. It was overgrown with weeds in some sections and a muddy bog in others.

They wanted a space that made them feel good and that they were able to share with their family, particularly their grandchildren.

A friend recommended they contact Plant-EM and now, they say they have a beautiful, functional garden that makes them feel happy and relaxed.

A garden they are proud and excited to share with their family and friends and one they believe will improve their lifestyle and encourage them to enjoy the outdoors together.

Q&A – Our lifestyle garden

Anne and Michael with Plant-EM Director William Crabb

Q: Why did you need a garden restoration?

A: We had our pool taken out and we’d left it for 12 months to let everything settle.

The garden had gone to an absolute disaster because there was no water, the systems had all been destroyed. We were looking for something green that we would use with our grandkids as well.

We had a lot of weeds, we had some old shrubs, we had a bed down the middle of the garden that divided it in half. We had very little grass because there was no water and there was really nothing else, there was a lot of dust and a lot of mud.

Q: Why did you choose Plant-EM for the job?

A: We had a friend who actually had Plant-EM do her garden and when I told her what we were going to do she suggested that I contact William and talk to him about it.

His emphasis is that it’s our garden, and he will do what we want to do.

I remember saying to him that I’d really love a stream but I didn’t think it was possible here, he said, if you want a stream you can have a stream and now we have our stream and it’s just wonderful.

Q: How did your ‘old garden’ make you feel?

A: Dissatisfied. We knew that we had to do something because we weren’t using the garden properly.

Q: How does your garden make you feel now?

A: Oh just fabulous, very happy. We spend a lot of time out here – wandering through doing little jobs, picking up bits and pieces, we just love it.

It just makes me feel wonderful. I’m happy, I’m relaxed and I just love it. And I want to show it to people (laughs).

Q: How do you think the garden will impact your lifestyle?

A: I think it will greatly improve our lifestyles because I think we’ll spend so much time out here that will benefit us. I’m really looking forward to the plants growing and seeing what happens and just living with the garden.

Q: What was it like to work with the Plant-EM team?

A: I found them really easy to work with. I found that when they came and I met everybody, I knew who was coming, I knew what their jobs were, they always stopped to talk to me if I wanted to ask them something or asked them to explain something to me.

I always knew what was happening next, when to expect them and what to expect the next day. It’s been a really good working relationship, it’s just exceeded my expectations.

Q: Would you recommend Plant-EM to others?

A: I would strongly recommend that anyone looking to do garden renovations use Plant-EM. Whether it’s a garden restoration or a new garden – any garden work I would strongly recommend that you use them.

Q: What would you like to say to the Plant-EM team?

A: I’d like to thank them. I’d like to really thank them for the job they did, for working with us. For understanding what we were looking for but also making sure that we didn’t make mistakes.

I’d just like to thank all the team for all their work and the extra work that they put in to give us what we really wanted.
