Why did you choose a Plant-EM Garden Restoration?
We had this big backyard that no-one was really using, it wasn't a terribly attractive area and we never really liked the landscaping that had been done previously, so it had gotten to the point of 'oh my gosh just don't look out the window'!
But then when we had the house painted and we had everything done up beautifully inside our home, we thought we really needed to get on to reviving the backyard.
And so began searching for a local landscaping company that prided itself on excellent work, we had had some bad experiences before with people not turning up when they said they would or coming to do a quote but then we would never hear from them again, so working with William and the Plant-EM team was great.

What work did Plant-EM undertake for you as part of your Garden Restoration?
Our lawn and gardens were in a real state. When we originally moved in about 15 years ago the mock orange and the fox tails were there, we planted some fox tails and it had all overgrown – there was years’ worth of overgrowth and our spider lillies had died right back.
I said to William just plant whatever it is you think we need to keep the basic structure of the garden. We also needed a new irrigation system, turf and some structural changes.
There was a path and steps leading to nowhere and William had that filled in and it is just so much of a better space now because it’s inviting and we actually sit here and have drinks with friends and enjoy it.

How is it changing how you live in and use your garden?
It has changed how we use it enormously already!
Before the restoration it wasn’t very inviting at all so we tented to stay away, but now it looks great, it’s much cooler because of the grass and we can actually spend time outside and enjoy the area now as a family and with friends.
The kids are older now so nobody really plays out here as such, except Serena and Stella our dogs who adore it, so its now a relaxing place to hang out.
We’re even looking at ways to style it with up-cycled furniture to make it even more comfortable, it’s gotten me inspired to plant my passion fruit and my herbs too.

How would you describe the service you received from Plant-EM?
Working with William and the Plant-EM team was really, really good, they were great!
The best thing was William came to view our yard and did the quote on the same day. He spent some time here and by the time he’d finished we had a monetary amount written down for the garden restoration and we were definitely on the same page as far as planting and layout as well, so it was all really easy.

What do you think of Plant-EM’s motto Changing Lives With Gardens?
I think they have a nice philosophy or a nice approach to how they go about their work and why.
Plus they didn’t come in and make a big mess and rip everything apart and swear and curse and fight amongst themselves, so there is a real positivity in the team, and I think it shines through in the work that they do. If you are a landscaper I believe actually listening to what people want is extremely important and that Plant-EM listened really created the difference for me.
I would absolutely recommend Plant-EM and I really like the App on the watering system – that has changed my life my friends are envious of it too.
Some landscapers tend to come in and say I can save you some money by doing this or that and maybe cutting some corners, but I just wanted one that actually worked and that’s what I got from Plant-EM.
